I didn't set out to be a photographer… It just kind of
happened!

I suppose it’s possible
that it’s because my Dad has been an avid amateur photographer and I admire
him greatly. I remember his
Olympus well, always a little envious as he protected it from little fingers,
the likes of mine! I loved watching him move around to get the perfect angle
and the perfect shot. And even better was watching the slide shows on the wall
later to Ooh and Aah at his images taken earlier on. Or it could have been the birth of my beautiful children. Like
most moms out there, I want to capture every moment in their lives for fear of
missing anything at all, which means I have had a camera in my hand the better
part of 18 years now! I couldn’t tell you what it was for
sure, but together these reasons pushed me to pursue photojournalism at the
University of Montana while getting my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.
What I can tell you without doubt is
that I really love what I do. I love people and everything about capturing the
true spirit of an individual in my photos. I am enthusiastic about every aspect of photography and spend a lot of
time refining, perfecting and even obsessing over my work… It is a passion. But more
importantly, I have fun. Running around with lights. Rolling around on
the ground to get the perfect angle. Looking through the grass with my
lens to find the sparkle in a child’s eyes. For me, photography is an opportunity to turn up the energy, get creative, and
share my enthusiasm with my awesome clients.
